Yayasan Guan Yin 10th Anniversary Wesak Serene Night
In conjunction with Wesak Day celebration and 10th Anniversary of Yayasan Guan Yin (“YGY”), a non-profit organisation, a “Wesak Serene Night” will be held on 8th May (Friday) 7.30pm at The Summit Shopping Complex concourse area.
“The objective of Wesak Serene Night is to encourage Buddhists and non-Buddhists to celebrate Wesak Day with family and friends. This event also support world peace and leverage on special composed Serene Night songs to promote a peaceful mind on Wesak’s eve whereby Wesak Day signifies peace and harmony” said Datin Tan Swee Lai, Secretary General of YGY.
The event features an exhibition highlighting the significance of Wesak Day that commemorates three great events i.e. the Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana of Gautama Buddha. Other programmes of the Wesak Serene Night include launching of Magic Mirror’s DVD and hand over of donations to two orphanage homes, a drug rehabilitation centre and a cancer patient which are part of YGY’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
“Magic Mirror” performers – Regine Tai, Hogo, Winnie Ho and Jia Wang are invited to perform the Serene Night songs. We hope these delightful songs will lighten and warm all hearts and mind as well as promoting a peaceful and compassionate society.
YGY is pleased to have Ven. Khenpo Losal Rinpoche to lead the Lighting Ceremony on that night. “Bodhi leaves” will be distributed to public to write down their Wesak Day wishes. In addition, public can redeem a special gift at the YGY new centre in The Summit. All are welcome to join us to celebrate a blissful Wesak Serene Night.
