观音基金会即将呈献一部由马中顶尖舞台表演项目创作团队所打造,2015年大型音乐剧 —-《观音菩萨》,由中国一级舞蹈家于晓雪教授领导30位来自内地精英舞蹈杂技演员,联合90位马来西亚优秀舞蹈演员、歌者,以绮丽唯美的精湛舞蹈,庆贺马中建交40周年,共同呈献佛家经典《法华经》之观音菩萨普门品,更由四个故事引导慈、悲、喜、舍的精神,融入新颖大气的艺术表演。

《观音菩萨音乐剧》将于2015年1月15日至25日在国家文化宫(Istana Budaya)一连10场的演出,观音基金会秘书长兼《观音菩萨音乐剧》制作人拿督陈瑞莱,在推介礼指出: “我们应该时时以四无量心:慈、悲、喜、舍为作修持对人处事的基础,同时衷心希望透过《观音菩萨音乐剧》,让众生与善结缘,欢喜圆满人生。”

本地知名音乐人周金亮,也是观音基金会文化艺术局局长,为《观音菩萨音乐剧》音乐总监,再次期希交出动听的音乐创作,从中感动民众,以产生共鸣,希望《观音菩萨音乐剧》的音乐创作透过文化艺术的力量,可以引发美好的回响,让大家学习惜缘惜福、以正面和平的一面,加强国家与社会的安定。

根据佛教经典《法华经》之《普门品》改编,透过4则小故事带出佛教慈悲喜舍的重要理念。
剧以引子牵出序曲转入《》、《》、《》、《》,4幕,后尾声。

Inspired by the Buddhist scripture of “Universal Gate” in the Lotus Sutra, conveying the importance of kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity through 4 stories. This Musical begins with quests that lead audiences into prelude and the four stories of “kindness”, “compassion”, “joy”, “equanimity” and ends with a grand finale.

第一幕:《母亲的心》
1st scene: “The mother’s heart”


描述妈妈对孩子之无求以及无微不至的爱,即使被孩子掏出的心,在孩子匆匆忙忙的奔跑跌倒时依然会关切的慰问:孩子!你跌疼了吗?正如菩萨对众生的慈爱。

describing a mother’s love to her child is unconditional. Even at the moment that the child took out her heart, and he was so nervous and tripped and fell, at such instant, the mother is still concerned over the child and asked: “Son, are you hurt ?” This is the same as the love of Bodhisattva to everyone.


第二幕:《三界火宅》
2nd scene: “The fire of the three realms”


告诉大家的,是世间众生被生老病死、得之喜、失之悲的情绪困惑一生却不知苦难与悲哀皆来自人们心中的妄念。而心的宁静与解脱,才是让人们走出苦海继续走向超脱的精神彼岸。

all human nature is affected by the emotional, confusion and suffering from birth, oldness, sickness and death. Humans are trapped with the emotions of joy from rewards, and sadness from loss. Little did we realised that this suffering and sorrow arise from our minds. A peaceful mind and liberation are the best ways to eradicate misery and continue to reach the shore of total happiness.

第三幕:《离苦得乐》
3rd scene: “Achieving happiness by staying off the course of suffering”


描述修行者为求能让世人离苦得乐的喜悦在无边无际的苍茫路上不畏艰苦投身探索追究的精神。

describes the practitioner’s spirit of accountability and the hardship involved to let human nature achieve happiness by staying off the course of suffering.


第四幕:《舍身飼虎》
4th scene: “Sacrificing of body to tiger”


有生就有灭,有聚就有散,这是没有人能够超越的万物定律。造恶行者,将堕地狱道;造善行者,将生於善道。此幕小王子舍身飼虎的精神更带出布施行为可贵的福德的累积。

no one can surpass the nature of birth and death. The end of birth is disintegration and the end of gathering is seperation. The evil actions will fall into hell realm and the virtuous actions will lead to the good path and higher realms. The sacrifice of the Prince to the tigeress in this scene demonstrates the invaluable goodness and accumulation of innumerable merits in generosity.


舍

全剧以“应以何身得度者,即现何身而为说法”贯穿,灵山圣境佛陀弘法做前呼启程的序幕,再以转合后应写下落幕的尾声。

The musical uses the popular quintessence phrase of Universal Gate “For those who need someone in the body of whoever in order to be saved; he appears as whoever and teaches the dharma for them” to link every scene together. The prelude of the musical sets scene of Buddha’s teachings in the sacred mountain, Ranjgir, and the curtain will falls in the gradeur of the same scene.
